You may be wondering why you still feel the urge to put on a jacket in August here in Thurston County. Many people I talk to say this is unusually cold for this time of year, so I did a bit of digging.Apparently, the temperatures remain fairly consistent for this time of year depending on if we are in an El Nino or La Nina cycle. El Nino tends to bring higher than average winter and springs, and La Nina brings in lower than average winter and spring temperatures.Summers are still a bit of a wild card, but meteorologists predict that this year will be average to above average.
We are just heading into the warmest part of the year, August and September. You can expect little, if any, rain and temperatures warm enough to at least pull out those shorts from moth balls.Swimming is still ify in the Pacific Northwest, but you can certainly hit the beaches for a little wet suit surfing.Try Westport’s Steepwater Surfshop for rentals on surfing equipment.
Mornings are still going to be a touch nippy, and you may want to keep out a sweater, but the afternoons are glorious in the Pacific Northwest.Take the time to get out on the back patio with the grill and a lawn chair.By October we will see rain breaking up our sunny revelry. So, soak up the vitamin D while it is available.

Dana worked very hard to find exactly what we were looking for in a condominium. There were quite a few properties for sale, but few that offered what we wanted. Dana didn't waste her time or ours having us look at offerings that were not in line with our desires. She also stuck with us for a long time while we searched for just the right place. Dana also helped greatly with finding a mortgage broker, one who really listened to what we were looking for in a loan package, and deliver it. Our loan pre-approval went quickly. When it came time to close our purchase, Dana arranged to have the closing take place at our house. She was also present at the closing (as was our mortgage broker) to make sure all went smoothly and our questions answered. Dana also took great care to work around our schedule, which I'm sure wasn't always convenient for her (Thank You Dana). Dana is friendly and very professional and honest. We would recommend her to anyone shopping for a new place to live."
