Have you ever had authentic pizza?I thought I had, until I stopped in at the Pizzeria Gitana on East Yelm Avenue. The pizza here is served just as they would out of Italy - thin, crisp, wood-fired crust, whole olives with the pits intact, artichokes, specialty cheeses.Perhaps the typical American pizza lover would find the taste rather exotic. We are accustomed to our pan pizza with thick, stuffed crust and pepperoni. But for the more adventurous tasters, this pizza is fresh and exciting.
Pizzeria La Gitana is rather small, but the cozy atmosphere mimics the roadside cafes one might find on any European street corner. It is probably best suited for a date night, but children are certainly welcome. They don't just specialize in pizza. They have a large selection of specialty salads, as well. But, the desserts!Ooo, the desserts. If you've ever tried and loved tiramisu, you will truly appreciate the homemade delicacy served here (see photo). The coffee flavor doesn't overwhelm it, but makes a perfect complement to the dessert.
Definitely a must try if you're in the mood for the exotic in Yelm. They offered a discount for paying with cash.

"Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $200K in Puyallup, WA.
Being first-time homebuyers my wife and I didn't know what to expect. We are both very thankful that our first-time home buying experience was guided along by Dana. Everything was handled professionally with care and Dana's kind smile. We never felt rushed or pressured into any decision, we weren't just another client. We absolutely have recommended and do recommend Dana to our friends and family. Thank you Dana for being so patient with us and for making our first-time experience a pleasure."
