The old lumber store on Yelm Avenue has sat empty for a couple of years now, and every time I pass I think, I wish I could buy that place and do something with it.Someone finally got the same idea, and we are getting a Habitat for Humanity Restore! That seems like a perfect fit for the space. What this means is that we will be able to buy recycled and overstock building supplies without going into Olympia. It also means more jobs for our area, more houses being built, and more people benefitting from the trade-off.Sounds like a win-win to me.
The Restore is scheduled to open in September.
