The warm snap we had this past week after such a hard freeze serves only to tease us into thinking spring is just around the corner.Alas, the final frost date in this area really isn't until April. That doesn't mean we can't start preparing a little for spring by sprucing up our yards and hauling in a bit of dirt and mulch to get the flower beds or vegetable garden ready to plant. Teddy Bear Hauling in Rainier is a great place for all of your gravel, dirt and mulch. They have the most reasonable prices, the best selection and the most flexible delivery around.I make Gordon's Garden Center in Yelm a regular stop for all of my soil amendments, flower pots and garden whimsies. They also have a good assortment of quality plants and trees perfect for this area.My trips to Gordon's also serves to scratch that spring fever itch that comes over me about this time of the year.
Second on my list of places that help satisfy the spring fever itch is Jason's Garden Center on Bald Hills road in Yelm. They are quite different than Gordon's in that they are only open seasonally. They specialize in just plants, no whimsies, but plants are really what they do best. They officially opened their doors February first, but the greenhouses are not filled yet.The manager says they will be opening a whole new greenhouse this year to accommodate their growing retail market, and it should be ready by mid March.I go to Jason's when I want a really large selection of plants and trees. The employees are quite knowledgeable about what they sell, and that's because they grow most of what they sell in their own back yards.Don't expect to go to Jason's for amendments or gardening supplies, stick with Gordon's for that. But, the prices are great and the selection is outstanding at Jason's, so I just keep going back to see what's new to add to my landscape.

" Brandi spent an entire Saturday running my husband (who had just flown in for a couple days from Connecticut) all around to different towns near and far from the Olympia area. She was very friendly and professional in every interaction we have had, and she always looked out for our best interests. I believe she sincerely wanted to help us find the perfect house to suit our preferences. In addition, she drove to several homes that we were interested in and made videos so that we could get a clear idea of what the houses and neighborhoods were like. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Brandi! Best experience we've ever had with a realtor, hands down. "
