The City of Yelm was recently awarded approximately $1 million dollars by the WA State Transportation Improvement Board. The funds will be used to overlay First Street to Rohton Rd and install ADA ramps in that area. The new pavement will help cut down on future expenses for the city. The current chip seal pavement requires more maintenance then new the 2" asphalt overlay will require. The remaining funds will be used to rework the intersection of State Highway 507 and Mosman Avenue. This road work will straighten out the intersection to make it safer for drivers. The City of Yelm will also be contributing funds to these projects. Safer roads definitely contribute to a better community!
