It's time to put your dancing boots on and brush up on your two-step. Yelm area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a genuine, old fashioned barn dance at Stewart's Arena - 11127 Vail Rd, Yelm. With the construction on Vail road looking a bit closer to completion, this is the perfect time to truck it out there for the evening.
Local singer and songwriter, Jonathan Harris, is set to perform live for the event. Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Harris has been the Pacific Northwest's country darling. He has opened for the likes of Merle Haggard, Charlie Daniels, Gary Allen, Chad Brook, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and more. His 2006 album, Where Concrete Don't Grow is earning him a solid fan base both here in the Pacific Northwest and abroad.
Cover charge for the event will be $20 ($15 for active duty military with id) and includes one free drink. So, if you're looking for a night out with your spouse in Yelm, grab your partner and head on out to Stewarts Arena on Friday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m. for the hoe down. This is a fun event that supports a really important organization in the Yelm community - our Chamber of Commerce.
