Don't forget to make your way out to the opening of the Yelm Farmers Market this weekend, Sunday 11-4.The Yelm Cooperative has been approved by the City to use 2nd Street between McKenzie and Mosman to hold the weekly farmers market. The location is right next to the City Skate Park.
The line-up includes Andrea Levanti from Vittles de Vine, a local personal chef, demonstrating how to make the perfect salad at 11:30, kids crafts, and a special performance by Reichel Road Runners from Uncle Roy's Music from 2-4.
The main reason you should attend, however, is to support our area farmers and artisans. Each week the farmers market will be adding new vendors as season produce begins to come in.Since the market runs through October this year, you'll have a chance to stock up on lots of fresh, local produce all season long without the long drive into Olympia.Area residents have been asking for a farmers market for a long time, so we should all turn out to support this endeavor by the Yelm Cooperative to bring the community and their farmers together.
